1.0 OverviewThis is a fun outing to go cross-country skiing on groomed trails in the beautiful Green Woodlands around Cummins Pond.2.0 Concept2.1 DescriptionWe will meet at the Community Center on Sunday at 11 am and drive from there to Green Woodlands. Since Green Woodlands requests that groups be no larger than eight, we will divide into two group by ability and ambition. The more ambitious group will ski out to the North Warming Hut, while the more relaxed group will ski the pond circuit.2.2 Schedule of EventsSunday 6 Feb1100 -- Meet at the Community Center 1115 -- Depart for Dorchester 1200 -- Arrive Green Woodlands, divide into groups. Start out on planned routes; lunch on the trail. 1600 -- Reconvene at the trailhead. Return to cars. 1700 -- Arrive Hanover. 2.3 Expected Conditions and DifficultyThe trails at Green Woodlands are easy to moderate and suitable for skiers of all levels of skill. The trails are groomed for both skate and classical style skiing. Snow conditions, are expected to be fairly minimal, and the weather is forecast to be quite warm and sunny, but check the weather before departing and Be Prepared.2.4 Special RequirementsOpen to all scouts, scouters, and parents.
