1.0 Overview

This outing is an opportunity to learn safe gun handling and shooting practices and to work towards Rifle Shooting merit badge.

2.0 Concept

2.1 Description

We will meet at the Community Center and travel to the Grafton County Fish and Game Club range in West Lebanon. Under the supervision of a certified instructor, and strictly observing all BSA shooting sports safety policies, we will learn safe gun handling and shooting. We will cover safe gun handling, different guns, shooting position, and cleaning the gun. We will shoot BB-gun, .22 rifle, and shotgun.

2.2 Schedule of Events

0900 -- Meet at Community Center parking lot.
0930 -- Leave Community center for Grafton County Fish and Game Club
1000 -- Arrive at Grafton County Fish and Game Club
1200 -- Lunch
1400 -- Leave Grafton County Fish and Game Club
1500 -- Pickup at Community Center

2.3 Expected Conditions and Difficulty

We will be outdoors for shooting.

2.4 Special Requirements

Open to all scouts, scouters, and parents. There are no skill prerequisites for this outing.

  • Class A uniform. Look sharp!
  • Hearing protector if you have it.
  • Safety glasses if you have them.
