1.0 OverviewWe have been invited to camp with the Norwich Boy Scout Troop. Most of their scouts are students at the Richmond Middle School or at Hanover High School, yet we do not know who they are. This will be a good chance for the two troops to get to know each other.2.0 Concept2.1 DescriptionThis is an easy campout. With good weather expected this will by a day in the woods by a pond.We are planning on cooking in pairs on this camp out. So everyone is responsible for their own food. We are NOT hiking from Hanover. That plan did not develop. 2.2 Schedule of EventsSaturday 29Apr0610:00 -- Meet at the Norwich American Legion Post on Beaver Meadow Road. 11:00 -- Set up camp. 12:00 -- Lunch & clean up Afternoon - games and skills 6:00 -- Dinner 9:00 -- Night event 10:00 -- Lights out Sunday 30Apr06 7:00 -- Breakfast 9:00 -- Break camp 10:00 -- Pick up at Norwich American Legion Post 2.3 Expected Conditions and DifficultyThis should be a relatively easy, fun outing with no special challenges and conditions similar to Storrs Pond. Nevertheless, it is important to be prepared for the unexpected, and to use this outing as an opportunity to develop skills for more rigorous conditions. The hike from the American Legion Post to the campsite is a little over a mile.2.4 Special RequirementsOpen to all scouts, scouters, and parents. We will not all drive to the site since the road to it will not carry that much traffic If you need to come in or out at a different time, the campsite is located up a dirt road from the Norwich Garage and Transfer Station on New Boston Road (see map).
