1.0 OverviewThe Boston Lot is a tract of undeveloped land owned by the City of Lebanon. It is located just to the east of the Connecticut River directly across Rt 10 from the Wilder Dam. The Boston Lot includes several miles of hiking trails and a pristine lake that is home to numerous species of fish. We'll be visiting the Boston Lot for a fun outing centered on fishing in the lake and generally enbjoying this very special locale. The outing will provide advancement opportunities for Fishing and Fly Fishing Merit Badges.2.0 Concept2.1 DescriptionWe will meet at the picnic area parking lot opposite Wilder Dam at 9 am on Sunday. We'll then hike the quarter mile in to the lake and... go fishing! We can hike around the lake to the best fishing spots, eat lunch when we're hungry, and end up back at the parking lot at 2 pm.2.2 Schedule of EventsSunday 1May0900 -- Meet at parking lot, organize shared gear. 0915 -- Hike to dam. 0930 -- Arrive at dam. Go fishing. 1200 -- Lunch. 1330 -- Pack up for return to trailhead. 1400 -- Pickup at parking lot. 2.3 Expected Conditions and DifficultyThis should be a relatively easy, fun outing with no special challenges. Nevertheless, it is important to be prepared for the unexpected, and to use this outing as an opportunity to develop skills for more rigorous conditions.2.4 Special RequirementsOpen to all scouts, scouters, and parents.
