1.0 OverviewTroop 45's first spring hike will be up Mt. Cardigan. This is a good opportunity to do some hiking and be out on top of an exposed peak.2.0 Concept2.1 DescriptionMount Cardigan, located about 4 miles east of Canaan, NH, rises to an elevation of 3155 feet. Although it is not too tall in comparison with other peaks in the White Mountains to the north, Mt. Cardigan is situated in such a way that it frequently experiences extremely high winds on its exposed, bare rock summit. We are still in spring and can expect cool conditions and maybe even snow patches on the way up. Weather is a factor we will need to be ready for.2.2 Schedule of EventsSaturday, 10May082.3 Expected Conditions and DifficultyThis outing is open to all Scouts. On a fair day this is an easy hike. But we should always be ready for weather. Check the forcast and remember it will be windier and cooler on the mountain then in Hanover.2.4 Special RequirementsProper clothing for wind and rain.3.0 Administration and Logistics3.1 Announcement Date: 30 Apr 083.2 Roster Closing Date: 7 May 083.3 CostsNone3.4 Equipment3.4.1 Individual Equipment3.4.2 Patrol Equipment3.4.3 Troop Equipment3.5 Transportation PlanDrop-off Point: Black Community CenterDrop-off Time: 8:30a Sat 10Mar08 Pick-up Point: Black Community Center Pick-up Time: 3:15p Same day
