1.0 Overview

This outing is a cross-country ski outing to Green Woodlands. It is a day activity that is a moderate challenge for any scout. We will be out most of the day.

2.0 Concept

2.1 Description

We will go to the far warming hut in the Green Woodlands. This will probably take us a couple of hours. After taking a break at the cabin we will return on another trail which will take us back to our cars.

2.2 Schedule of Events

Saturday 17Dec
0800 -- Meet at the Community Center (unless otherwise announced)
1500 -- Return to Community Center

2.3 Expected Conditions and Difficulty

It will be cold! Be prepared with all the necessary clothes for a winter outing. In terms of difficulty it is definitely a hilly region but is shouldn't be too strenuous. It would be good to have a basic knowledge of cross-country skiing.

2.4 Special Requirements

Open to all scouts, scouters, and parents who feel prepared for the conditions.

  • Cross country skis (ask someone if you need to borrow or maybe rent at Occum Pond)
