Each year, Troop 45 conducts one outing in which 2nd year Webelos are invited to participate. This outing serves as a way for the Webelos to become acquainted with Troop 45 and it allows them to complete one of the requirements for the Arrow of Light Award. It also serves as a fun-filled, low-key overnight for the scouts. There will be an orienteering exercise on Sunday morning for scouts who need to complete the orienteering requirement for First Class.
Note: Webelos will participate in the activities during the day. The scouts will hike out with the Webelos and then return to the scouting area for the overnight.
On 6 April, we will go to the Troop camping area at Storrs Pond and Area 5 where we will introduce second year Webelos to Troop 45 through an afternoon of orienteering and manhunt. The webelos will enjoy a one-pot patrol meal with the scouts before departing at about 6:00. We will meet at the Upper Parking Lot of Storrs Pond and hike to Area 5 for orienteering, then we will hike to the Boy Scout Area for manhunt. T45 scouts can remain for the overnight and participate in the orienteering exercise the next day.
