Objectives NOV....... SFF is Scouting for Food, the BSA National Good Turn. It is held on two consecutive Saturday mornings in November. The Survival Hike is an overnight exercise in off-trail navigation, lost procedures, night travel, and short-term survival techniques, usually held on Moose Mountain. DEC....... The Winter Shakedown is an easy winter trip intended to orient the inexperienced to the rigors of winter camping, and to allow the experienced to improve their skills. Toys for Tots is a toy drive conducted by the Marine Corps reserve. The Webelos Hike is an troop-sponsored activity for the Webelos Den of Pack 45. It is a requirement for Webelos and our opportunity to introduce the rising Webelos scouts to Boy Scout activities. JAN ....... The Backcountry Ski Trip is a winter backcountry trip on skis or snowshoes. This outing has been held in the past on Moose Mt and Moosilauke. The Klondike Derby is a district-wide event conducted by the OA. It takes the form of a "skill hike" in which each patrol completes the circuit to various skill stations pulling all their equipment in a sled. FEB....... For the snow cave campout we build quinzees or other snow shelters and sleep in them overnight. MAR.......The Patrol Experience is an opportunity for each patrol to conduct an outing separately from the troop--and with no adult supervision. The Nunnemacher Cabin outing is an overnight stay at the Skiway, staying in the DOC's Nunnemacher Cabin. This event is usually connected with the annual "Scout Ski Day" sponsored by the Dartmouth Skiway. The Cookoff is a patrol open-fire cooking competition. APR....... MAY.......Tenderfoot Skills Camp is a campout held at Storrs Pond for the purpose of New Scout indoctrination and Tenderfoot skills development. JUN....... JUL .......We are planning to return to Camp Bell this year. AUG....... SEP....... OCT.......
