Notes

Objectives
  • Monthly Overnight Outing.
  • Monthly Theme for Troop Meeting focus.
  • Details and schedule modifications to be determined by the PLC.

    MAR.......

The Webelos Hike is an troop-sponsored activity for the Webelos Den of Pack 45. It is a requirement for Webelos and our opportunity to introduce the rising Webelos scouts to Boy Scout activities.

Scout Ski Day is a day of free skiing for Scouts sponsored by the Dartmouth Skiway.

APR.......The Day Hike is supposed to be something moderately challenging we can use to help the new Scouts get oriented and develop skills.

MAY.......Tenderfoot Skills Camp is a campout held at Storrs Pond for the purpose of New Scout indoctrination and Tenderfoot skills development.

The Spring Camporee will be held at the Unity Campsite.

JUN.......The overnight canoe trip could be something like Orford to Wilder, or Sumner Falls to Cornish.

JUL .......Pickledish Hollow (AKA Winslow Ledges) is a local rock climbing area. The APPC wanted several "afternoon outings" to work on specific climbing skills.

AUG.......We will be at Hidden Valley for camp this summer.

The major outing for the summer is a trip to Mt. Katahdin in Maine.

    SEP.......

The Survival Hike is an overnight exercise in off-trail navigation, lost procedures, night travel, and short-term survival techniques, usually held on Moose Mountain.

OCT.......The bike hike is specifically a mountain bike trip. How to make it an overnight is a remaining challenge.

NOV....... SFF is Scouting for Food, the BSA National Good Turn. It is held on two consecutive Saturday mornings in November.

The service project is supposed to be a community dinner where we can help out.

DEC....... The Winter Shakedown is an easy winter trip intended to orient the inexperienced to the rigors of winter camping, and to allow the experienced to improve their skills.

Toys for Tots is a toy drive conducted by the Marine Corps reserve.

JAN ....... The Backcountry Ski Trip is a winter backcountry trip on skis or snowshoes. This outing has been held in the past on Moose Mt and Moosilauke.

The Klondike Derby is a district-wide event conducted by the OA. It takes the form of a "skill hike" in which each patrol completes the circuit to various skill stations pulling all their equipment in a sled.

FEB....... The ski trip is to an alpine ski area such as the Skiway, Okemo, or Sunapee.
